After a long journey, another good day for OBHRC at this very well attended Championship which saw lots of high quality tests. Tamsin Morris riding Cullawn My Way to Queen tracks came third and Antonia Thoday riding Danesbrook Jubilee Flyby came a close fourth. Both were competing in the Novice with points class. Well done to you both.
A sunny September day at a great venue with a very good result. Our team came a very close third. All four riders rode double clears, and three finished on their dressage scores! Can't ask much more than that. The happy foursome were Hannah Priest on Lynne's Fanta Buddy (second), Sally Symington on West Star (fifth), Liz Rollinson on Dassett Legal Edge (sixth) and Caroline Craddock (ninth).
Congratulations to Tamsin Morris and Cullawn My Way for coming fourth in the Senior Open Individual Dressage riding Elementary 53. They were the only ones from OBHRC to qualify for the Nationals this year.
Blessed with perfect weather, a fantastic cross country course thanks to all Jef Bell's work, dressage arenas beautifully prepared by John and Bryan Popkins and Jan Scott, very efficient timing by Nick Wallbridge and scoring by Tamsin Morris, Jan Scott and Sacha Hughes lots of riders and friends had a great day.
Thanks to all of the above as well as judges – Jill, Scilla, Liz, Lindsay; XC Control – George Luff; plus lots of other helpers, food providers and XC fence judges. We couldn't have done it without you all.
The OBHRC team of Liz Rollinson (highest placed member), Caroline Craddock, Sally Symington and Hannah Priest won the L&SE Team Qualifier. All were pleased with the way their horse went. Zoe Langley rode as an individual member. The 'Open to All' arena was won by Mary How riding Texas and the BRC members arena was won by Charlotte Hilder (Naphill RC) riding Park Top Guy.
The club entered three combinations who, despite the heat, thoroughly enjoyed an extremely well run and increasingly popular competition. Liz Rollinson on Dassett Legal Edge and Tamsin Morris with Cullawn My Way rode in the Novice BD points section. First timer, Tamsin riding to Queen tracks, came third (in L&SE too) as did experienced DTM combination Antonia Thoday and Danesbrook Jubilee Flyby in the Novice 0 Points section. Antonia also came fourth in the L&SE Senior Qualifier.
Well done the three of you!
Unfortunately we were unable to raise a mixed show jumping team for Hickstead and were balloted out of Blenheim EC which is such a shame as we did have a team for it.
We were blessed with a glorious sunny day and very good going. Excellent result for OBHRC – our Senior Open Dressage Team came second with eight points, only pipped by WBRC with seven points. The team consisted of one Elementary test –Tamsin Morris and Cullawn My Way who came first – and three different Novice tests – Antonia Thoday riding Danesbrook Flyby Jublilee who came third; Sally Mawer riding Chester with fourth placing in the team competition and Anna Streeter on Gurraun Seagram borrowed from Anka Taylor with 6th placing in the team competition. Big thank you to SORC for running such a well organised event, to Nicky Waters for all the admin in advance, to our team helper, George Luff and to Liz O'Donnell for her support on the day. Well done team.
Members, some practising for next week's Area 6 Dressage Qualifier, some newly joined and some who had hacked to get there enjoyed a relaxed, friendly, gloriously sunny morning. A big thank you to Scilla Lown for judging and to Sylvia Chalkey, Jo Milligan and Christine Cheadle whose help made the event possible and whose efficiency made it run smoothly.
