Congratulations to our members who made the 3-4 hour trip to
Lincoln Show ground on Friday afternoon, with an overnight stay ready for their
classes on Saturday.
Riders travel from all over the UK to compete at this
Congratulations to Tamsin Morris & Cullawn My Way (Corby) for winning the Senior Open Elementary 45 Dressage
What amazing achievement for both of them.
Amy Kearney & her
horse Ferrari Vd Beekldijde competed in the Senior Novice Dressage
Championship were placed 9th overall.
Jillie Luff &
Corby competed in the Veteran Riders
Elementary & Medium class & were 2nd in the Medium
test and 7th overall in Veteran Riders Elementary & Medium
Amy also jumped in the 90cm Championship class & was 16th
out of 71 riders, just have one pole down out of two rounds.
This was Lynne Priest
& Fanta Buddy first visit to the Nationals, they jumped really well in the 70cm Championship class over a tricky
course in a small ring on grass &
finished with just 4 faults &
a few time penalties over two rounds. The
70cm class had 82 riders !
Thank you to Tamsin, Amy, Jille & Lynne for representing
the Old Berkeley Hunt Riding Club at the BRC
Nationals in 2018.
This was a very hot day, luckily all the jumping took place
either at the large indoor school or the outdoor arena.
our team of only three riders in 70 – 75cm class.
Sally Mawer with Little Flo, Alison Moody with Temple Cashell &
Lynne Priest with Fanta Buddy.
The sunlight shone through the slatted sides of indoor
school & caused problems early on,
but our team had three clears in first round and just twelve faults in second
round. Finishing in second place overall. Lynne and Buddy jumped two clear
rounds & the fastest clear in jump off, winning the individual section and
qualifying for the National Championships in September.
Amy Kearney and her horse Ferrari Vd Beekldijde jumped as an individual in the 90 – 95cm
class, they had a double clear round & came 6th overall.
Qualifiers were on the same day at BCA.
All tests were ridden
on grass arenas . Our Area 6 Senior Open Team all rode very good tests, despite
the ground being hard and slippery. Each rider was placed in their arenas: Novice
2: Amy Kearney – 1st. Novice 27: Antonia Thoday 4th. Novice 30: Sally Mawer
3rd & Elementary 45: Tamsin Morris 2nd . The team came second overall, just missing
a qualification place by one point.
Jillie Luff competed
as an individual in the Medium 69 test, she was 2nd in her class.
The L&SE Prelim Team: Lynne Priest, Alison Moody, Tamsin
Morris & Whitney Russell all rode very well too. They were placed 5th
in the teams & have qualified for the L&SE Championships in Kent on 14th
Thank you to all our members for competing on 15th
July and representing the Old Berkeley Hunt Riding Club.
We must also thank
the ladies who gave up a day to be helpers at this event, without these generous people members
can’t compete. Liz O’Donnell, Christine Dennis, Rachel Godfrey and her daughter
Congratulations to Antonia Thoday and Danesbrook Jubilee
Flyby who competed in the Novice class of 12 riders. There won the competition
with an amazing score of 75.56%. This
qualifies them for the DTM Championships at Bury Farm, late September.
After what had been a very wet Spring, the weather changed
to very hot, not idea for eventing.
We had 4 riders competing over 3 classes. Senior 80cm: Sally
Mawer & Suffolini who were just out of the rosettes in their arena. Liz
Rollinson & Dasset Legal Edge who jumped a double clear & were awarded
with 3rd place in their arena. Sally Symington competed in the
Senior 90cm class.
Nikki Allen riding Ricky Dutton’s horse competed in the Senior
100cm class & they were placed 4th
overall in the class. A very busy & successful day for all our members.
