Understanding the eligibility rules for horses and riders?
There are horse eligibility and rider eligibility rules in the lower class levels.
Restrictions on the horses in some of the middle to higher levels.
It is important to make sure both you and your horse comply with the eligibility rules and compete within the correct class level.
The BRC office will check all combinations that qualify for the championships.
Each schedule that we produce will have the eligibility rules for both horse & riders in each class level, to save you reading the BRC handbook.
How many teams and individuals at the Area 6 competitions qualify for the championships?
The winning team automatically qualify for the championships.
Depending on the numbers teams entered sometimes two teams qualify.
The highest placed individual not part of the winning team in each class automatically Q for championships.
Sometimes wild cards are offered to 2nd and maybe 3rd placed individual riders.
Because DTM is only open to individuals; depending on the entries - qualifications will offer out to 1stplace automatically, sometimes 2nd place in each class level.
PYO medium and advanced medium offer separate qualifications for championships.
Do I have to enter as individual in the same class if selected to compete as part of team.
Riding in a team automatically offers the riders the chance to be placed individually in the class test or SJ height they have ridden in as team member.
Special agreement made between all the clubs in Area 6 on training clinics.
Riders entered to compete at the Area 6 qualifiers will not be permitted to attend the chosen venue for schooling or training clinic one week / or 8 days prior to the event date including the weekend ( Saturday & Sunday) prior to the actual event date.
